i'm still here! last week I went into Kaolack to do a radio show. Well really just introduce myself along with two others from my stage on air. Somehow we promised that in January we'd do the show ourselves, since the two who normally do it wouldn't be availiable (i.e. vacationing in the us). Bonne chances to us I suppose.
I haven't been doing much as of lately. Just learning some language, reading some books, and making attaaya (senegalese tea). There are about 10 or 12 high school guys who come over every afternoon now and for around two hours, talk and make tea in their customary elaborate ceremony.
Next week, I'm going to Kaolack againg for Christmas. Should be fun. We're making desserts and having a white elephant exchange Christmas eve. Then for the 25th making a gigantic dinner. yum.

Kenny: Just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas before you leave for your party. Finally got some snow here, s it looks like Christma, but a little more coming by the 25th they say. That's fine, but then let's get on with SUMMER!!! Your care package should be arriving any day day. Things from lots of people. Enjoy it! I hope the susprise Grandma sent is "OK". She wanted you to have some. Carrie says you will be training again in Feb. so not sure if I should mail the Jan. Gazette or not. Dec. one in mail on the 26th. Memory stick inside so enjoy the photos! Take lots of photos there so you can show us all the things you have seen too. Have a safe and joyfil Christmas, and good luck on the radio show!! ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Kenny. Your Dad asked me to let you know that he mailed the ear plugs you requested on Sat. 12/19. It looks like it takes about three weeks to get things to you. He will send the maps in another package. He said you could package some of that warmth and send it to him! We got you post card a couple of days ago. Glad you're doing well.
